MARTYN STEINER

Environmental Systems and Societies tutor

I’m Martyn Steiner, an Oxford-based IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) teacher and tutor. Alongside my school teaching, I offer one-to-one tuition in science, biology and environmental science.

ESS tutoring

If you’re looking for an ESS tutor, tell me about your course, whether you’re studying SL or HL, and what you would like to work on. That might be making sense of an environmental systems concept, interpreting data or building confidence with written explanations. We can discuss what support would be useful and whether I’m the right fit.

Environmental Systems and Societies combines scientific ideas with questions about people and the environment. My classroom work includes ecological investigations with students and collaborations with scientists at London Zoo.

Tutoring experience

I have thousands of hours of tutoring experience. Most of my private tuition has been in GCSE science and A level biology. I have also trained tutors and overseen teaching quality in tutorial colleges.

Looking for a tutor in Oxford?

I have worked in teaching and leadership roles at Greene’s College Oxford, Oxford Sixth Form College and Oxford Montessori Schools. I live in Oxford. Please include your location and preferred lesson format when enquiring so we can discuss availability and arrangements.
